For centuries, acoustic guitars have only been fine-tuned in terms of details. As far as I know, the elaborate concept has never been questioned in its entirety. The old construction method simply no longer makes sense for modern production. Design in the acoustic guitar sector is almost non-existent.
HERE COMES MADA
MADA Suoca is a spherically shaped acoustic guitar made from hemp pulp. Production technology has been revolutionised with design.
Thanks to its edgeless shape, MADA develops an unmistakable, wonderful sound.
Why the spherical shape? ‘I wanted to create an erotic object, the Venus of guitars. To support the musician's special relationship with his/her instrument. Creating a homogeneous body was important to me. Away from ‘cut away’, not cut up, towards a form.’
Why asymmetry? Because this avoids standing waves and the musician can play in high registers without any problems, even without a ‘cut away’. It also creates visual tension.
MADA IS MATERIAL
Why hemp? All other fibre materials are enriched with binding agents (plastic, resin) and therefore have no air pockets. However, the permanent transition from structure-borne to airborne sound is essential for the sound. This can lead to resonance. This is why Zelfo is the ideal material. This material consists of 100% hemp fibres and enables the production of seamless, spherical hollow bodies.
MADA is therefore much easier and more efficient to manufacture than the old construction method.

ARCHTOP MODEL
The moulded back. In jazz guitars, as in violin making, only the top and back are moulded spherically to achieve an acoustic pumping effect. In the archtop model, the back (rear) was turned round to make the instrument more ergonomic and supple. Same effect - better shape.
