The JAFmaster is designed as an ultra-light and compact short scale headless thinline archtop electric guitar with 24 frets and a short scale length. The EGB Communitybuid project combines magnetic pickups with contact pickups in appropriate places in the body and neck. This combination enables both the integration of acoustic elements into the sound image and the recording of the interaction with the instrument. The electronics are mainly controlled by knobs and blend pots, while the concept of multiple channels and blending different sounds on the pedalboard is continued.
The name JAFmaster is derived from the initials of the guitar makers involved – Johannes Auly, Adam Wehsely-Swiczinsky and Frank Deimel – all of whom are masters of their craft.
The instrument was specially developed for Christoph Gruber.
